Full Moon Morris

Full Moon perform Morris dances from the Cotswold "traditions", which basically refer to the villages in and around the Cotswold hills where the dances were originally performed. The origins of the dances are far from clear and you'll hear a different story about them from each Morris side you talk to (in Morris terminology, a dance team is known as a "side").
Full Moon's main traditions are Headington (near Oxford), Lichfield (north of Birmingham), and Oddington (Gloucestershire). We also perform some dances from Adderbury, Brackley, Badby and other traditions.

We have several musicians who provide music for the dancers using instruments such as the melodeon (a type of button accordian), concertina, whistle, pibgorn (a Welsh hornpipe), Welsh bagpipes and fiddle.
