We can repair many stained glass windows, mirrors and lampshades to bring them back to their former glory. This may range from the replacement of one or two broken pieces of glass to a complete rebuild. Replacement glass can usually be matched very closely if not exactly.
Traditional leaded windows can sag over many years and if left for too long can cause glass breakage. In extreme cases we will effectively rebuild such windows, using new lead but retaining as much of the original glass as possible. Depending on what has caused the damage in the first place, we can add strengthening to provide you with many years of trouble-free use. For most windows repair must be done back in our workshop, so will have to be removed while this work is done - we can fit temporary boarding if required.
We also specialise in the repair of Tiffany lampshades, replacing individual pieces of glass on any part of the shade without needing to reconstruct the whole shade. Again we can add strengthening or modify the way the shade is suspended or mounted, particularly if this has contributed to the damage in the past.
Some examples of our restoration work are shown on this page.
